Cadillac Seat Belt Stop Button Kits Service Bulletin
Recently entire seat belt assemblies from the above listed vehicles were returned to the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) for detachment of the seat belt stop button. The purpose of this bulletin is to advise dealers that replacement of the entire seat belt assembly is NOT required if a stop button becomes broken or missing. A service kit for the Seat Belt Latch Plate Stop (button) is now available from GMSPO.
Stop Button Installation
Do This
Install a new seat belt stop button.
Don’t Do This
Do not replace the entire seat belt retractor assembly.
1. Position the seat belt latch plate above the seat belt button hole.
2. On the front side of the seat belt, insert the male button half into the existing hole.
3. On the opposite side of the seat belt, position the mating button half.
4. Apply pressure to both button halves to engage.
2004 Cadillac CTS ASI Resolution – Intermittent Dead Battery or Battery Goes Dead Overnight
Condition: Some customers may comment on an intermittent dead battery or of the battery going dead overnight.
Cause: This condition may be caused by the instrument panel brightness lever, located on the overhead console, being slightly engaged but not enough to turn on the interior courtesy lamps. The slightly engaged switch causes the Dash Integration Module (DIM) to cycle between active and inactive which wakes up other modules on the Class 2 data line.
id=”more-2611″>This causes the vehicle to remain active. The scan tool will not indicate that the switch is active.
Correction
Technicians are to replace the overhead console assembly with an newly designed part using the following procedure:
1. Remove the roof console. Refer to the Roof Console Replacement procedure in SI.
2. Remove the roof accessory switch console retainer assembly (3). Refer to the Sunshade Retainer Bezel Replacement procedure in SI.
3. Install a new roof accessory switch console retainer assembly.
4. Install the new roof console. Refer to the Roof Console Replacement procedure in SI.
Parts Information: Important: The roof console retainer assembly must be replaced when a new roof console accessory switch bezel is replaced.

2004 Cadillac CTS Oil Leaking from Engine Cam/Valve Cover Seals During Extreme Cold Weather
When operating in extremely cold weather conditions, some 2003-2004 vehicles with 3.2L V6 engine (VIN N – RPO LA3) may leak engine oil from the cam/valve cover seals, especially from the left side just below the oil fill hole in the cam/valve cover.
This condition may be due to the closed crankcase ventilation system becoming blocked by ice. When the ventilation system is blocked, the crankcase vapors and engine oil will then vent through the cam/valve cover seals.
In order to keep the water from accumulating and freezing in the ventilation system, install the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Kit, P/N 55558592, and Oil Filler Cap, P/N 12589430. Refer to the repair procedure in this bulletin.
Repair Procedure:
1. From the primary engine PCV vent hose adapter (8), disconnect the following:
A. The crankcase ventilation fresh air (outboard) hoses (9).
B. The dirty air hose (10).
C. The evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve vacuum hose (11).
2. Remove the three bolts securing the primary and secondary engine vent hose adapters.

Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon U.S. pricing announced
Cadillac has announced the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon will be priced from $62,990.
Designed to tackle estates like the BMW M5 (in Europe) and Mercedes E63 AMG, the CTS-V features a bold front fascia, Brembo brakes, and 19-inch forged-aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.
Inside, the cabin is nicely equipped with leather upholstery, heated front seats, GPS navigation, and a Bose audio system. Options include Recaro sports seats, Sapele wood trim, and a suede steering wheel / shifter.
Power is provided by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine which produces 556 hp (415 kW / 564 PS) and 551 lb-ft (747 Nm) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds, which is pretty brisk considering the E63 AMG Estate takes 4.6 seconds to run from 0-62 mph.
2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe U.S. pricing starts at $38,990
Cadillac has announced pricing information for the 2011 Cadillac CTS coupes.
Priced from $38,990 ($40,890 for AWD), the CTS coupe is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 304 hp (227 kW / 308 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque. It comes nicely equipped with a six-speed automatic (a six-speed manual is optional), 18-inch alloy wheels, rear park assist, a Bose audio system, remote starting, and power seats.
The CTS Coupe Performance Collection starts at $43,430 ($45,330 AWD) and features all the aforementioned equipment as well as HID Xenon headlamps, adaptive forward lighting, leather upholstery, and a Bose 5.1 audio system with a 40GB hard drive and USB connectivity. If that’s not good enough, the $47,835 ($49,735 AWD) Premium Collection adds a rear-view camera, a sunroof, interior ambient lighting, heated and vented front seats, a heated steering wheel, wood trim, and GPS navigation.
